This is the last Liberty confectionery shop in Trieste, remained unchanged for one century. Its austere windows display bonbons, fondants and 19th-century confetti, among putizze, presnitz, pinze and home-made chocolate eggs, according to the alternation of seasons. Bomboniera is the right place to taste Rigojanci, as Austro-Hungarian cakes have been produced here since 1850, when the Hungarian Eppinger family founded this confectionery shop. All cakes are rigorously baked in the original wood-fired oven dating back to 1850 and this is the only confectioner in Trieste to use this ancient baking method.
